REIMBURSEMENT & CLERICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST needed. Will provide billing and claims processing for the Bangor Health Center (BHC) within Bangor Middle School 2 days per week. Assists in providing intake, access, and clerical support services in Paw Paw office 3 days per week.
Generates and submit claims. Reviews remittance advice forms to verify proper reimbursement; posts client and insurance payments and refunds to client accounts. Assists with compiling billing and data reports. Assists in completion of financial intake process (including data entry), financial updates, and re-determinations. Determines customer's ability to pay; gathers demographic information, collects third party billing information and obtains assignments and releases. Provides clerical services, including maintenance of accurate client records; accurate and timely transcription, word processing, scanning and typing services; copying, preparing and distributing materials; and switchboard coverage.
Requires: HS Diploma or GED. At least 1 year relevant experience, including pediatric billing and coding; ICD-9, CPT & HCPCS coding; healthcare related reimbursement; and healthcare software applications. Demonstrated knowledge of medical and insurance terminology & coding and Medicaid reimbursement practices. Computer literacy in software and web-based management systems and the ability to learn new systems. Demonstrated ability to accurately type 50 wpm and utilize electronic medical record and electronic data interchange systems. Ability to sit at a computer terminal or reception area for long periods of time. Successful completion of a coding certification program, preferred.
